Celebrating a Joyful Evening: The Successful Dinner Dance of the Association of Sri Lankan Lawyers in the UK – A Night to Remember – 26 April 2025
Dear Members,
We are delighted to share with you the resounding success of our recent Dinner Dance, held on Saturday, 26th April 2025. This joyous gathering brought together members, families, and friends of the Association of Sri Lankan Lawyers in the UK (ASLLUK) for an unforgettable evening of celebration, marked by professional pride and Sri Lankan cultural heritage.
The Ambience
The venue was professionally set up with elegant décor, ambient lighting, and well-arranged decorations, creating a welcoming and well-organised environment for the evening. Guests arrived smartly dressed, which added to the formal and celebratory tone of the event. From the outset, the atmosphere was positive and engaging, providing an excellent opportunity for networking among the many solicitors, barristers, and their families and friends in attendance.
A Culinary Delight
Attendees enjoyed a sumptuous feast featuring a thoughtfully curated menu of Sri Lankan cuisine. From flavourful starters to richly spiced main courses and indulgent desserts, complemented by a generous selection of wine, beer, and spirits, each dish was a culinary highlight. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many guests praising the authentic flavours and attention to detail.
Dance the Night Away
As the evening progressed, the dance floor quickly became the focal point of the event. The live music band delivered an engaging performance with a well-balanced mix of classic hits and popular favourites, maintaining a high level of energy throughout. Members and guests participated enthusiastically, and the dance floor remained active well into the night; a clear reflection of the event’s positive reception and overall success.

We are pleased to share with you a selection of photos from the evening. These images vividly capture the ambience, atmosphere, and spirit of the night, from laughter and elegant poses to spontaneous moments of joy. Heartfelt Thanks
This event would not have been possible without the support and presence of many valued individuals and partners. We were honoured by the presence of the Acting High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, whose attendance and kind words reaffirmed the valued support of the Sri Lankan High Commission.
We also extend our sincere thanks to the several distinguished members of the judiciary who joined us as Guests of Honour. Their presence was a great privilege and a reflection of ASLLUK’s growing recognition within the legal community.
Our warm appreciation goes to our principal sponsors: Land Rover Richmond, Lloyds PR Solicitors, Sriharan Solicitors, Satha & Co Solicitors, and Solidum Solicitors; as well as to all other sponsors, partners, advertisers, and raffle prize donors. Your generous support was instrumental to the success of the event and to advancing ASLLUK’s ongoing work.
We are grateful to our President for his leadership and vision, which continue to revitalise and strengthen the Association. Special thanks go to the ASLLUK Executive and Working Committees, including our Treasurer, Chief Organiser, Deputy Secretary, and event hosts, for their outstanding commitment. We also thank the Solidum Solicitors team, all volunteers, Ruby Caterers, the Exceed Band, DJ, dancers, photographer, and the Hilton hotel staff for their contributions.
Finally, and most importantly, we extend our sincere thanks to every attendee: barristers, solicitors, family members, and friends; whose presence and participation brought the evening to life and made it a truly successful and memorable occasion.
Looking Forward
The Dinner Dance has set a new benchmark for ASLLUK events. It reflected the unity, strength, and joyful spirit of our community. We look forward to building on this success with more events that connect, celebrate, and support the professional journey of our members.
Thank you once again for making this evening so special. We look forward to many more memorable moments together.
